We are proud to offer a completely vegan kitchen as part of our commitment to holistic and compassionate living.

A few reasons why we have chosen to embrace veganism includes health and wellness, environmental sustainability, inclusivity and spiritual connection.

  • Compassionate Living: At the heart of our spiritual practice is a commitment to kindness and compassion. By choosing to serve vegan meals, we are extending that compassion to all beings, including the animals that would have been used for food. By living in harmony with the earth and all its inhabitants, we are honoring the interconnectedness of all life and living in alignment with our values.

  • Health and Wellness: Research has shown that a plant-based diet can have numerous health benefits, including a reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. By serving only vegan meals, we are promoting health and wellness for our students, while also reducing our impact on the environment.

  • Environmental Sustainability: Animal agriculture is a leading cause of deforestation, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. By choosing to serve vegan meals, we are reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainable living. By using locally sourced, organic ingredients whenever possible, we are supporting local farmers and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels for transportation.

  • Inclusivity: By offering a vegan kitchen, we are able to accommodate students with a variety of dietary needs and restrictions, including those who are lactose intolerant, allergic to eggs, or following a plant-based diet for personal or religious reasons. By creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, we are able to foster a sense of community and connection among all our students.

  • Spiritual Connection: Many spiritual traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism, promote veganism as a means of living in alignment with the principles of non-violence, compassion, and mindfulness. By offering vegan meals at our retreat center, we are able to honor these spiritual traditions and support our students in their own spiritual journeys.
